So it’s soon to be fall and the pantry has recently been stocked full of freshly made marinara sauce. Lets put some ideas in place to use up that sauce. There’s only so many spaghetti nights one can have!
How about change it up a bit with a sandwich night and make a delicious Classic Italian meatball sub?
This can be a very quick meal on a rushed evening. I usually have pre-homemade meatballs in my freezer, which I will share with you in another post. However, in a pinch store bought ones will do the trick. The important thing here is easy!
Italian Meatball Subs
Easy quick meal as an alternative on Italian night
Ingredients
- 4 Submarine buns
- 16-20 medium sized cooked meatballs, Can cook in the sauce
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Place meatballs with sauce in submarine buns
- Sprinkle with onion and cheese
- Grill or microwave 30 seconds to just melt the cheese
- Enjoy!
